Zarbiv, Ilan-David
Son of Albert and Janet. He was born on 14.4.1954 in Convalen-Saint-Honorek, France. Where he acquired his basic and middle school education. In 1969 he and his family visited Israel and toured it for two months. In 1973 he came for a second visit to Israel, where he stayed for a few months and finally decided to tie his fate with it and settle there. At the end of 1973 he was registered as an immigrant and spent several months in Jerusalem. Ilan was a cheerful guy. He loved classical music very much. He had an evening voice and used to sing his voice for the enjoyment of his friends. He is also blessed with a talent for painting. The date of his enlistment in the IDF was set for October 1974. Ilan was assigned to the Infantry Corps, but first he completed a Hebrew course at the Military School of Education and graduated with a high grade, He was brought to an eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, when his close family members come to his funeral from France. He wrote to his bereaved family: “The entire unit stands at attention in memory of Ilan, who was one of the pillars of his company. Ehud, his friends and commanders, and a candidate to leave as an excellent soldier for a class commanders course. “Ilan was an inmate in Israel, and after his death, his mother and two sisters decided to follow him and immigrate to Israel.
