Zamir, Yaakov
Son of Shifra and Alter. Born in 1908 in the city of Bryansk, near Bialystok, Poland, he immigrated to Eretz Israel and joined Kibbutz Yagur near Haifa, where he was a member of Haganah and active in the kibbutz. On April 6, 1931, a group of young men and women from Kibbutz Negor returned from work, and a group of Arabs ambushed them and opened fire on them. The cemetery in Yagur was buried in a mass grave with the two friends who fell with him, and he was twenty-three years old when he died.The funeral was attended by many participants and among the speakers was David Son of-Gurion Among other things he said: “No reparations young life, no ransom. We are still few. We have acquired the right to live in this country peacefully and at work. This right will not be taken by the murderers “
