Zamir (Brachodari), Shlomo (“Solly”)
Son of Mordechai and Leah. He was born on December 12, 1948. After immigrating to Israel he studied at the Eliyahu Golomb elementary school in Kfar Shalem (on the way to Lod) and after graduating he studied at the ORT school where he studied electrical engineering. He was drafted into the IDF and in his regular service he was a parachutist and a traitor, but on April 23, 1968, he fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. One of the members of his unit wrote in a letter of condolence to his family that Shlomo had served in the unit from the time of his enlistment, passed the entire training course and was about to receive the rank of sergeant. Later in the letter he notes that “he was discovered to us as a person and as a good fighter and his commanders saw him as a friend and his friends loved him.”
