Zaklikowski, Isaiah


Son of Rivka and Moshe, was born on February 15, 1916, in Poland. When he immigrated to Israel in 1939, he was accepted to work as a regular in Haaretz in Tel Aviv. During the Second World War, he volunteered for the army and served in the Jewish Brigade. After his discharge he returned to Israel to work and serve in the Haganah. During the past year, he regularly listened to the social sciences classes at the People’s University for Workers in Tel Aviv. On the day of the Declaration of Independence, he accepted the general draft order for ex-soldiers and immediately arrived at the entrance, and he was granted leave for a few days Until his service was determined and in the meantime he went to Haaretz to finish his work and on that day, 9 May 1948, he fell with his three colleagues in an air strike that hit the printing press. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
