For his technical skills, he was sent to a mechanic training course, and at the end of the course he was stationed in the Armash company, which was in Sinai at the end of the training period, where Uri expanded his professional training in a course for armored personnel carriers, a vehicle exam course, and a training course for the Ordnance Corps. Yom Kippur Uri was part of the IDF forces who crossed the Suez Canal and settled for many months on the western side of the canal on African soil. In 1975, Uri embarked on a parachuting course and at the end of his career joined the army. During his service, Uri married his girlfriend Carmela, and the two widened their family upon the birth of the daughters – Aya and Shri, and the son Or – Uri was a family man, husband, father, son and model brother. , Uri was among the Paratroopers who was sent to Lebanon, and wrote: “… I had the feeling that the company would require a lot of casualties and that lowered my morale … Today I saw a dead terrorist for the first time. Uri saw the world through the ‘eye of the camera’, took a lot of pictures and managed to express his loves and feelings through his many photographs. His dream, to study higher education, was not enough to fulfill. During a unit sports day Uri felt ill and was rushed to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. The doctors made every effort to restore him to his health, but after a few days, on the 18th of Shevat 5748 (February 5, 1988) he died. Uri was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
