Son of Yosef and Sheyna. He was born on May 18, 1954 in Russia. He immigrated to Israel with his family in 1971. He attended elementary school in his hometown. Afterward, he began his high school there, and upon his immigration to Israel he was accepted to the Ulpan High School in Beer Sheva. A year later he began his studies at the preparatory school of the engineering school in Be’er Sheva. At the same time, Alexander sometimes worked in construction to support himself and help his family. Alexander was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in July 1973. After completing his training in Hebrew, he was sent to basic training and finished with great success, and after completing basic training he was assigned to the artillery corps as an artillery officer.
