He was always surrounded by girls who courted him passionately, and after completing high school, Eitan went on to the 13th grade for electrical engineering studies at the “Hakfar Hayarok” Technological College in Tel Aviv. A few months later he decided to leave school because he wanted to stay with his friends and join them. Eitan was drafted into the IDF on March 28, 2007. He underwent basic training at the Training Base (Training Base) 20, and was then assigned to regular service there. Since he was very attached to his home and his friends, he asked to be transferred to a nearby base and moved to serve in the Paratroopers Brigade at the Golani Junction. Eitan fell during his service on 21 September 2008 and is twenty and a half years old. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Migdal Ha’emek. Survived by father and sister. On his tombstone were engraved the words “Your memory will not be used from our hearts forever.” His father makes sure to visit his grave every week and to celebrate his memory. In the condolence letter to the bereaved family, Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi wrote: “Eitan served as a general worker in the ‘Eagle’ formation in the ‘Mafetz’ formation in the Northern Command. Eitan’s commanders say that he was a responsible and dedicated soldier. Eitan was described as a reliable person who volunteered for various missions and won the trust of his commanders. To the soldiers of the unit, he was a friend of truth, who had a warm welcome and was a supportive shoulder. The heart aches over Eitan’s untimely death. “Eitan was very motivated and did his job well, while revealing responsibility and a work ethic,” the unit commander, Colonel Ron Weisel, wrote to the family. We could rely on Eitan for whatever was needed, even in times of distress. Eitan was a friendly soldier who served as an example to his comrades in the unit and was attentive to them. And all this, out of love, friendship and a desire to help others. Eitan was evident in the joy of life that characterized him, he loved life and aspired to fulfill his dreams. For every difficulty and distress he knew how to rise with the help of humor. His radiant smile will continue to accompany us. “
