In 1963 the family immigrated to Israel and lived in poverty and distress in Kiryat Ono, where he completed his studies at the Moshe Sharett elementary school and immediately joined the family. And helped him in his place of work until he was drafted into the IDF. All the while he worked willingly, out of a sense of true duty, affection and loyalty to his parents and brother and sister. A lot of friends were to Alberto in his neighborhood and they all had a good friend and a loyal friend. Lewis was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early November 1971. After basic training, he was sent to the Patton course at the Armored Corps School and graduated with a high grade, and he was very diligent in his studies and training and his commanders saw him as a loyal soldier, Who had given him a vacation, would go to work with his father to help with the household agriculture, because the illness of both parents prevented them from giving the family all the good they wanted to give, while Lewis met his girlfriend Carmela.
