Yosef, Nitzan


Son of Aviva and Eliahu-Ze’ev (Willi) was born on the 3rd of Adar 5766 in Eilat. As a child, his family moved to the north of the country. For a few years the family lived in Kiryat Shmona, where Nitzan began to attend elementary school. Afterward, the family moved to Kiryat Ata and Nitzan continued his studies at the Gordon and junior high schools. As a boy he worked alternately and studied in vocational schools. Prior to joining the IDF, Nitzan underwent a pre-military driving course, and in October 1983, he enlisted and served as a driver, on 14 April 1984, Nitzan traveled with a group of soldiers on the Acre-Haifa road. Three soldiers, among them Nitzan, was 18 years old when he was killed, and he was laid to rest in Haifa’s military cemetery, leaving behind his parents, brother and sister
