Yonah, Nir

Nir, son of Tamar and Nachshon Yonah, was born in Beit Shemesh in 1982. In July 2000, Nir enlisted in the IDF, and was Simcha to be a gunner in the Merkava tank, which he had been interested in since he was a young boy. On January 25, 2001, Nir fell in the line of duty when he was 19. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, and was survived by his parents, sister and brother.
