Yom Tov, Shmuel


Son of Rachel and Moshe. He was born on the 6th of Tishrei 5729 (6.10.1968) in Jaffa. He began his studies at the Givat Hatmarim school. When he was nine years old, the family moved to Rishon Letzion where he continued his studies at Habib Elementary School. At the end of his elementary studies, Shmulik was a smiling, peace-loving boy with a high level of social awareness and the need to volunteer and work for others. He had a natural sense of justice and found a suitable expression of his social sensitivities in the framework of a youth organization for youth in Rishon Letzion, where he volunteered to treat a child with a brain injury, but he also cultivated his personal hobbies and devoted himself to music and interest in airplanes and aviation. In January 1987 and was assigned to serve in the IDF The Air Force as an aircraft technician. He loved the service in the Corps and was loved by his colleagues and commanders in the squadron. He aspired to advance in his profession and be an airborne mechanic, but his ambition did not materialize. Shmuel fell in his duties on February 29, 1988 due to an injury in a work accident that occurred when a helicopter was dragged in the squadron and he was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Holon.
