Yogev, Yaron
Ben Karin and Hanan. He was born on the 7th of Cheshvan 5729 (7.11.1968) in Gan Yavne. Yaron grew up in Kadron and finished elementary school in Moshav. He completed his high school studies at the Brenner regional school. For a while he lived with his grandfather in Kibbutz Netzer Sereni. At the end of his studies he volunteered for a year of service at the Bat Yam branch of Hanoar Haoved. He traveled extensively, excelled in navigations, and was a rappelling enthusiast. At the end of November 1987, Yaron was drafted into the army, volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade, and arrived at the elite commando unit, where he underwent a difficult course – basic training, parachuting, a course for commanders, various training courses, . Yaron was an officer in the unit and a brigade, and on Independence Day he was summoned to the President’s Residence as an outstanding soldier, Yaron was an example of the whole company On January 19, 1990, Yaron fell in combat in Lebanon, in a clash with a terrorist squad deep inside Lebanon, while his unit was engaged in preventing the infiltration of terrorist squads. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Moshav Kidron. Survived by his parents, brother – Yuval, and two sisters – Galit and Iris. He was twenty-two years old when he fell. In his letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “During his service in the unit as a combatant and commander, Yaron played in his character, character, and behavior all the positive traits that man has.” Yaron served as a model for an entire generation of soldiers and officers.
