Son of-Nechama and Binyamin. He was born on January 1, 1946, in Kurdistan. At the age of 5 Meir immigrated to Israel with his family, who settled in Moshav Ein HaEmek, in the Ta’anach region. Meir studied at the elementary school for eight years, and then went on to study at the Nahalal High School. When he was drafted into the IDF, he was assigned to a position in the Golani Brigade and was discharged from the army, and was promoted to the rank of corporal. In 1972, after marrying Malka, he moved to Haifa, where his eldest daughter Meirav was born, and then two sons, Meir was a devoted father and always found time to spend time with his children, helping them prepare lessons and share their experiences. The rest of his family, who continued in Ein HaEmek, was willing to help them and help them at all times When he began Operation Peace for the Galilee, Meir was called up for reserve service, and he took a prayer shawl and tefillin with him, as well as the tallit he had with him during the Yom Kippur War. When his friends saw him, they found the prayer shawl on his body soaked with blood. Meir was killed in the battle on 20 June 1982 and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa, leaving behind a wife, daughter and two sons, parents, brothers and sisters.
