Upon his discharge he studied at Mercaz Harav Yeshiva in Jerusalem. He began his academic studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in the Faculty of Natural Sciences, where he received a B.Sc. degree in Physical Chemistry. At the Weizmann Institute of Science he specialized in the Department of Chemical Physics and was about to continue his doctoral studies under the guidance of Prof. Yitzhak Steinberg and Prof. Ephraim Katzir (Kaczewski). Giora was about to marry Tova, his girlfriend from childhood, who had shaped their way together for years. They organized a vital and root-material life-story with a wondrous bond between them. Praised him for his moral strength, his willingness to sacrifice, his help to others and his salvation for the task of defending the people and the state. He fought in the Six-Day War and the War of Attrition. He never delineated areas between his scientific work and his role in the army. As a student, he fulfilled his obligation to reserve duty above all required quotas. He used his talents and skills as a scientist to optimize and improve everything around him within the military framework. In his recommendation to award an excellence award to Giora, Prof. Y. Steinberg wrote: “Mr. Yishinsky came to our lab about a year ago, when he came to work with surprising speed on the Fluorescence Dimming Instrument. Quick, great talent for instrumentation, diligence and methodality … In addition to his Yaffa work in the laboratory, Mr. Yishansky also achieved good achievements in his studies, despite frequent calls to reserve duty … ” The prize was given to Giora a few months before his fall. The research work done by Giora toward the M.Sc. degree at the Weizmann Institute of Science was actually accomplished when he fell. In his last days, on his return from the flights, he dealt with its conclusion. His colleagues in the department, with the help of the counselors, undertook to publish Giora’s work. In the introduction, he wrote: “When we reviewed Giora’s notes and essays, we found that they were very orderly and clear, so we duplicated these lists as they are in his own handwriting and constitute the body of the essay. Many in the essence were combined sentences and conclusions of Giora Kalashonen. On the 17th of Tammuz 5731 (July 7, 1971), Giora fell in the line of duty with nine of his comrades on their return from a security mission in a crash on the Sinai coast. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Giora’s master’s degree in natural sciences was handed over to his parents at the Weizmann Institute graduation ceremony held on Sunday, May 24, 1972, in the presence of the Minister of Defense, Mr. Moshe Dayan. Prof. Feldman, Dean of the Feinberg Graduate School of the Weizmann Institute of Science, read a passage from the opinion of the jury: “The work of this research requires a deep theoretical understanding of the field of optics, knowledge of spectroscopy, orientation in electronics, control of programming, knowledge and understanding in the field The study of proteins The thesis program written at the time by the late Giora Yishaynsky proved that he had approached his research work, equipped with all the knowledge he needed later on in his work. And indeed,The results of the work justified all the hopes placed on him by his teachers, instructors and friends. Giora Honon has excellent verbal and written ability. The committee decided to grant Giora the grade “excellent” for his thesis, and among the letters received after the fall of Giora was a letter from his instructor Prof. J. Steinberg, to his family and the family of his girlfriend Of Giora: “. . . I pray that Giora’s memory, the memory of his moral strength and the memory of his charming personality will make you feel the strength to withstand the weight of the loss. “The letter of condolence sent by Prof. M. Feldman, Dean of the Feinberg Graduate School, ends with the words: Will increase to do. Again, as so many times in our history in this country, the good, the excellent, the most necessary are the best. “In the Bulletin of the Israel Chemical Society,” The Chemist in Israel, “Giora Yashinsky was devoted to a piece that concluded:” Giora was a thirsty young man, profound and very intelligent. His scientific curiosity and diligence knew no bounds. His words were always balanced, with respect for his colleagues. “With the publication of Giora’s findings as a scientific article, Professor Ephraim Katzir (Kaczalski) wrote to Giora’s sister:” I repeat and read the words of our forefathers, and I find a little sanctuary in their reflections that only moral values and culture They are sustainable. They will face the ravages of history and they will pass from generation to generation. To make man more moral and cultured, it is worth living, and Simcha are those who have been given the right to contribute in their lives to those eternal values. Giora was one of those, and in his life, which was cut off in their hearts, was a symbol for all of us, we will never forget his wisdom and talents and devotion to his friends, his people and science. Some of Giora’s scientific publications are: Ishansky G – Classification of Triptopanic Residues in Protein with Fluorescence Curves – Master’s Thesis, Department of Chemical Physics and Department of Biophysics, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Nissan 572 March 1972. letters FEBS lysozyme oxidation of iodine and lysozyme of decay Fluorescence: GY Yashinsky (1972) 123: 26 At the Forty-second Conference of the Israel Chemical Society held in Rehovot in 1972, the work of GAY, Yashinsky .comlex inhibitor lysozyme and lysozyme oxidized iodine lysozyme Memorial Activities of Giora Yishinsky: The Giora Foundation Yoel Yishansky (founded by Elsa Bonem, USA) was established And the Hebrew University of Jerusalem at the initiative of his friends, Irit and Moshe White and Giora Tova Konin’s company, to grant scholarships to outstanding students in the natural sciences and Jewish studies.
