Yishayahu, Ezra


Ezra, son of Shoshana and Yosef Yishayahu, was born on the 25th of Adar I (February 28, 1954). in Daughter of Shlomo. He was drafted in to the IDF in May 1972 and after basic training he was assigned to the Israel Air Force’s anti-aircraft unit. He took part in the Yom Kippur War on the Egyptian front, and was wounded in the back and hospitalized for many months. And he decided to volunteer for a regular army service in the IAF. He was a sergeant major and a maintenance supervisor, and was then sent to an officer’s course. In September 1981, he was ordained an officer and took a three-officer course. In 1979 he married Mali and eventually their daughter Shunit and their son Mor were born. On the fifteenth of Av 5787 (August 10, 1987) Ezra fell during his service and was brought to eternal rest in the military section of the cemetery in Zichron Yaacov. He left behind a wife, daughter, son, parents and seven sisters. He was promoted to the rank of major after his death.
