Yishai (Kenig), Raphael-Zvi


Raphael-Zvi, son of Devora and Avraham-Aryeh Kenig (Yishai), was born on 26.5.1924 in Lodz, Poland and immigrated to Israel in the summer of 1936. Raphael-Zvi lived in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and attended the “Tachkemoni” high school and the “Matriculation” high school. After finishing his studies, he worked in polishing diamonds. In 1942 he was a guard in Jerusalem. That year he joined the British Army. On 8 Tishrei, October 8, 1948, when he went on a reconnaissance tour, he fell in a road accident in Deir Ammar. He was buried in Sheikh Bader Aleph. He left a wife, Mina, after three months of marriage. On the 17th of Elul 5710 (August 30, 1950) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
