Yemin, Gabriel (Kushi)
Son of Nissim and Liora. He was born on May 17, 1955 in Migdal Ha’Emek. He completed six years of study at the Shalom Aleichem elementary school in Migdal Ha’Emek, and later moved to the Rogozin School. In this school he completed his elementary studies and continued high school. In the first two years he studied in the theoretical track, and then chose to continue the real trend. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Gabriel was about to graduate from high school. But when his brother was killed in the war he suffered a severe shock, which caused him to leave school. He eventually obtained his high school diploma in external studies at the Mishlav school in Haifa. Gabriel, or as he was called ‘Negro’, was an outstanding athlete and was a member of various sports circles. In the basketball game he played in the Hapoel Migdal Ha’emek group, in the neighborhood he played soccer and volleyball. Yes, he took part in a judo club in the neighborhood club and in this sector he participated in several local competitions. Among his friends, Gabriel was known as a man who pursues justice and truth, and has often come into serious struggles with his teachers at school in matters of conscience and in cases that he considered to be a miscarriage of justice. Gabriel was drafted into the IDF in early August 1974 and asked to volunteer for the paratroopers in the infantry, even though he was the son of a family that had lost a son during the Yom Kippur War, and was sent to a parachute training course on November 14, 1974. ) Gabriel fell in the line of duty, brought to rest in the cemetery in Migdal HaEmek, and left behind his parents, six brothers and three sisters, and his family immortalized his name by donating to the synagogue in Migdal Ha’Emek.
