Yekutiel, Yael

Daughter of Sheli and Jacob. Yael was born on June 15, 1996 in Givatayim. A third child in the family, Nadav and Noga’s younger sister. Yael, a Giv’atayim resident, enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), served in the IDF Corps of Education, underwent an officers’ course and continued her military service with the rank of lieutenant colonel, and fell in a terrorist attack in Jerusalem on 8.1.2017. In the attack on the promenade at Armon Hanatziv, deputy Shir Hajaj, deputy lieutenant Erez Orbach and deputy Shira Tzur also fell. Yael was twenty years old when she fell. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, Tel Aviv. Survived by parents, brother and sister. After her fall Yael was promoted to lieutenant.
