Yehuda, Yosef (Yossi)


The only son of Aharon and Sarah. He was born in 1949 in Persia. The family immigrated to Israel in 1951. Yosef studied at the ORT school in Afula and completed his studies there in the 11th grade. After his father’s death, Yosef, despite his young age, continued to run the synagogue in Kedesh in Upper Afula. He was conscripted into the IDF in May 1967. He fell in the line of duty on the 15th of Kislev, December 6, 1968. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. His unit commander wrote to his parents in his condolence letter: Modest, a good friend and a model soldier. His death is heavy on all the people of the unit, and his memory will remain with us forever. “A plaque in his memory was set in the synagogue for the Persian immigrants in Jerusalem.
