Son of Ya’akov and Dalia. He was born in 1950 in Karakuk, Iraq, and when he was one year old, he immigrated to Israel with his family, who settled in Hartuv, where he studied at the Aharon Shemi elementary school in Beit Shemesh, but when the family moved to the Haifa area he continued his elementary studies at the Sprinzak School in Kiryat He became very fond of his classmates, who called him very much, and continued his studies at the WIZO agricultural high school in Nahalal. He was active in the Gadna training and spent time at the Gadna farm in Beer Ora, in the Arava. He was a very devoted son to his parents and used to call them and calm them down. His last letter, which he did not have time to send and is in his belongings, is full of expressions such as: “Everything is fine with me.” “There’s no need to worry;” “I hope to see you at home.” Carmi was drafted into the IDF in early February 1968 and volunteered to serve in the Paratroopers Brigade, following his brother on May 30, 1970. He was taken to an eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. The same officer and his commander wrote in a letter of condolence to the parents: “He was one of the soldiers of our soldiers. He has done a long way with us since his enlistment. During a period of war and persecution in the Jordan Valley, shelling in the Suez Canal and yeshiva in the outposts, we got to know Caramel and saw him as the good soldier and the devoted friend. “A Torah scroll in memory of Carmel was placed in the Eliahu Hanavi Synagogue in Kiryat Frostig.
