Yehud, Ezra


Son of Rachel and Ephraim, was born on August 27, 1927, in the Yemenite vineyard of Tel Aviv. When he was a year old, he was orphaned by his father, who was murdered in an ambush in Pardes Ness Ziona. Ezra grew up in an orphanage and after graduating from elementary school he studied carpentry and worked in this profession, and sometimes as a laborer in orchards or in a building for the livelihood of his younger brothers. From the day he insisted, he took it upon himself to avenge his father’s blood. At an early age, he joined the Haganah and became involved in exercises and training, and knew the easy goal and liked every role even if it was difficult. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Nutras, and even as a guard he fulfilled every command and every position with faith and devotion. According to one of his friends, he was active in the Irgun underground for some time, and Ezra was content with a small number, married a wife and prepared himself for a quiet work of life. Shortly after his marriage, the War of Independence broke out and he, as a guard, began to serve convoys on the Tel Aviv- On the road to Jerusalem, he was saved from danger, and he joined the Alexandroni Brigade, where he displayed courage and dedication in the most difficult situations and volunteered among the first to carry out any dangerous mission. (18.7.1948) died of his wounds at Beilinson Hospital. And not to be deterred and to follow him. His remains were laid to rest in the graveyard-Ness Ziona. After his death a daughter.
