Son of Cabuba and Yichya, was born in 1914 in Jerusalem. By profession he was a stonemason. He aspired to settle and was one of the founders of Kedem, which was organized in 1938 to settle in the abandoned village Kfar Uriya. Yehia had to fight for 6 years to the day, until they got on the ground. In August 1944 he became a field guard and soon joined the police. In his capacity as a police officer, Yehia was chosen to be the bodyguard of Prof. Chaim Weizmann in Rehovot during the president’s last visit to Israel before the declaration of the state. He had an almost constant war with his friends and family, who advised him to leave because of the bad security situation. In the great Arab attack on the village of Uriya on the 29th of Tevet 5708 (11.1.1948) Yehia was seriously injured in the head. Help took to long to come, and he died that day at Rehovot Hospital. Yehia left behind a wife and five children. He was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Rehovot.
