Yefet, Eliyahu
Son of Chaim and Simcha. He was born on December 6, 1939 in Aden. The family immigrated to Israel in 1949. He graduated from elementary school in Daughter of-Yam. He spent one year on behalf of Youth Aliyah in Givat Brenner. Was interested in sports and served as a sports instructor among the youth. He always aspired to be one of the homeland fighters. Was drafted into the IDF in July 1958. He served as part of the “Hatim Hatzerim” group, many of whom were in the process of making fun of his friends, but at the same time became a serious figure among them because of his devotion to the role and his love to do everything in loyalty. His enlisted friends and commanders loved him for his good qualities – seriousness, responsibility, love of others, obedience and discipline – he was drafted into the IDF in July 1958 and fell in the line of duty on Friday, 3.4.1960) and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, after which a booklet appeared in his memory. School named after the synagogue “peace tent” Bat Yam. Uri Milstein’s book, “The paratroopers wars” raised his memory.
