Ya’uri, Amit
Amit, Einat and Shachar Ya’uri’s eldest son, was born in Jerusalem in 1993. Amit was a person with a head on his shoulders and many abilities. Amit fell in battle during Operation Tzuk Eitan on 28 Tamuz, July 25, 2014. On that day, a squad of four engineering engineers, including Amit, climbed to the water tower in the center of Khirbet Khayza’a in the southern Gaza Strip, an area that was combed by our forces but not sterile. When they heard that there was an encounter with casualties, the four men got out of the tower and wanted to help. Amit replaced the knot, his weapon got stuck, and he ran to the platoon commander. They encountered two terrorists, returned fire and Amit managed to throw a grenade. The terrorists were killed in the clashes and when the team of Chaim and Amit stopped at the corner of the house to organize and continued to fight, another terrorist spotted them nearby and fired. Amit was killed on the spot and the platoon commander was seriously wounded. Amit was twenty-one years old when he fell, and was brought to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, Jerusalem, leaving his parents, sister, and brother.
