Yaron (Yaroslavsky), Gedaliah

Son of Shammai and Esther. He was born on the 17th of Kislev 5709 (17.12.1948) in Haifa. He studied at the Zichron Yosef Elementary School and graduated from the Municipal High School. He was a member of the Scouts movement and loved sports very much. He was interested in everything related to “soul,” and his plan – which he had much to talk about – was to study medicine after he was discharged from military service. By nature, he was still a soul, willing to help others and could comfort and encourage a friend in times of trouble. Gedaliah was drafted into the IDF in the middle of February 1967. He was always ready to help others and to encourage backward people, so his soldiers and commanders felt love and admiration for him. On September 18, 1969, before he completed his compulsory service, he fell in the Suez Canal area and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa, where his name and picture are included in the “Company C” A monument was erected on Mapu Street in memory of the fallen students, Major mansion is among them; urban high school of the Lord had established two commemoration, memory and other Gedaliah school student who fell; Memorial Day napalm held sports competitions and awarded the trophy to their name, the presence of the bereaved families; therefore established a library in their name.
