Yakovovitch, Yitzhak


Son of Jacob and Chaya. He was born in 1931 in the city of Dombrowa-Gornice, Poland, where he and his brother immigrated to Palestine on the ship “Exodus.” In 1947 he was returned by the British to Germany (after his brother was shot by them) He immigrated to Israel in 1948. He graduated from high school in January 1950. In January 1950 he was drafted into the IDF. He fell in the Sinai system on the 29th of Cheshvan 5717 (2 November 1956) in the battle of Abu-Agila and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
