Yair, Rafael (“Rafi”)

Son of Shlomo and Sarah. He was born on March 18, 1936, in Jerusalem, and completed his studies at the “Kol Israel Haverim” school in 1945. He was a member of the Hanoar Haoved movement and was drafted into the IDF in August 1954. It was quiet, humble and modest In his way of life, lucid and responsible, and willing to help others, especially his comrades-in-arms. He fell in battle on the shores of Lake Kinneret on the 27th of Kislev 5767 (December 12, 1955); He was not called upon to participate in this battle, but he stood in the ranks of the first act of his free will, for since wearing a uniform he was ready to kiss. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
