Yagna, Eliezer


Eliezer ben Efraim and Sultana. He was born on the 23rd of Adar, March 3, 1959, in Moshav Malilot in the Negev, affiliated with Hapoel Hamizrachi. His parents immigrated from Persia had two sons and seven daughters Eliezer had a love for others and willingness to always help a friend at any time of trouble. He was a member of the Bnei Akiva movement and served as a youth counselor. At the beginning of February 1977, Eliezer was drafted into the IDF and volunteered for the Golani Brigade, where he took part in combat operations on the northern border. During one of the raids he was injured and returned to his unit. Eliezer cultivated the hope that he would return to his comrades in the Golani Brigade, but the thread of his life was frozen at the age of 19. He fell in the line of duty on the 7th of Tishrei 5739, October 8th 1978. He brought to eternal rest in the military section of the cemetery in Netivot.
