Yaffe, Amir


Son of Esther and Abraham, he was born on January 18, 1972 in Akko, where he studied at the AD School. Gordon, then in the Second Aliyah High School, and completed his high school studies in the ORT real-world course in Kiryat Bialik. He excelled in his studies and was awarded certificates of excellence. His great dream was to be the first Israeli engineer to build an entire Israeli car. He liked to deal with various machines, assemble and operate, and devoted much of his time to planning and building vehicles. Amir intended to continue his studies in the framework of the academic reserve, in mechanical engineering studies at the Technion. For various reasons, his plan was not implemented, and he was drafted into the IDF in late July 1990 and sent to serve in the Golani Brigade, during which he was outstanding in his shooting skills and was sent to a sniper course. After completing the course Amir went out with his friends to the battalion and served for a period of operational employment in the territories, including active participation in a wanted unit. At the end of employment, the company went up to practice. Amir was accepted and loved in the platoon and company and liked everyone because of his comfortable, quiet and serious nature, as well as his youthful and mischievous spirit. During the entire period of his service, Amir maintained a very close relationship with the house. On 29.5.1991 he fell during his duty in a training accident in the Golan Heights during an exposed target exercise and was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Nahariya. Survived by his parents, and three brothers. His parents published a pamphlet in his memory and put a Torah scroll in his name for the synagogue in Acre.
