Yadaya, Etti

Etti, son of Rachel and Moshe, was born on 25.5.1953 in Kibbutz Hanita, where he studied at the kibbutz elementary school and later completed his studies at the Sulam Tzur regional high school near Gesher He liked to read and wrote notes, in which he brought his thoughts to the writing, and he helped his friends who had trouble preparing the lessons, all of which attested that Etti was easily and quickly liked by his pleasant and comfortable temperament. During the last year of high school, he wrote with me a thesis on “Job, the Devil and the God – in the Framework Story of the Book of Job” and won his work for He also published articles in the kibbutz newsletter, and some of them dealt with problems that preoccupied him and his contemporaries in the kibbutz and in Israel, and was active for a year in the national youth brigade of the Union of the Kibbutzim and Kibbutzim. Etti was drafted into the IDF in early February 1973 and assigned to the Armored Corps. After basic training he was sent to serve in one of the corps bases in the south. Etti was a responsible and dedicated soldier. His commanders commend his resilience, his obedience and his meticulousness in carrying out all the tasks assigned to him. He had acquired many friends from among his comrades in the unit, and everyone liked him because of his character and social contribution. During the Yom Kippur War he fought with his unit in Sinai. On October 6, 1973, his armored personnel carrier was hit by enemy fire, about a kilometer before the Lexicon junction. For a long time, he was considered missing, but in early May 1974 his body was found and returned by the Egyptians. Etti was laid to rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Hanita. After they fell, I was promoted to the rank of corporal. His family and friends at Kibbutz Hanita published a book in his memory. Included in it are things about his character, letters and lists and the theoretical essay he wrote “Job, Satan and God – in the Framework Story of the Book of Job.”
