Yacobi, Yosef
Yosef, son of Chana and Shmuel, was born on June 6, 1954, in Tel Aviv. He studied at the religious public school in Tel Aviv and continued his studies at the “Negev” vocational school in Tel Aviv, where he studied electrical and television technician. Joseph was a bright, cheerful fellow, loved by his associates and friends. He always knew how to rejoice and laugh, and in his laughter he caught up with those around him. He had a good sense of talent and had a talent in the technical field-especially when it came to electrification, so he was able to repair anything defective and repair old appliances. Joseph was known for his kindness and willingness to help others. His friends always mention how he came to help them when they were in distress, without being asked at all. He excelled in his courtesy and manner, and his behavior at home and in society was impeccable. He was a loyal son and devoted to his parents and cared for his family. He enlisted in the IDF in mid-November 1972 and was assigned to the Armored Corps, and after completing his training course, he was appointed driver of the half-track. He tried not to worry his father, who was a widowed three years before his son was drafted into the army. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Yosef was with his unit near the Gidi Strait On the afternoon of Yom Kippur, 10 October 1973, he was hit by an enemy attack on our forces, And was killed on the spot. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Holon. He was survived by a father, three brothers and two sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “We, the companions of Yosef, remember his courage and dedication.
