Yacobi-Rosenthal, Gilad

Gilad, son of Michal and Avi Yacobi-Rosenthal, was born on February 25, 1993 in Kiryat Ono. On 11 March 2012, Gilad was drafted into the IDF. He served as a combat soldier in the Golani Brigade. In June 2014, rocket fire from the Gaza Strip to Israel intensified, and as a result, Israel launched Operation Tzuk Eitan against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Gilad fell in a battle in Sejaya in Operation Tzuk Eitan on July 20, 2014. He was twenty-one years old. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul and after his death, he was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant.
