Jacob, son of Matilda and Joseph, was born on December 7, 1954, in Jaffa. He studied at the “Jonah the Prophet” elementary school and then completed his high school studies in the social studies track and passed the matriculation exams. Yaakov, who was named by his family – Jackito, grew up in a neighborhood near the sea in Jaffa. He liked to spend long hours on the beach, practice swimming, and once he built a boat with his father, which he took great pride in and enjoyed. He was an outstanding student and he especially loved natural studies. He was in charge of the laboratory at the school and spent a lot of time treating it. In his spare time, he participated in handicrafts and photography. He left behind a large collection of objects he carved in wood, attesting to great talent and diligence. He was a man who pursued peace, truth and justice. He always tried to avoid quarrels, and everywhere he bothered to make peace between rivals. He respected every man and thus gained many friends in school and in the army. Jacob was a partner in extensive social and cultural activities. Together with his classmates, he established a youth group whose goal is to help the communities in the school. During his vacation, he would go with his friends to Kfar Aza to help the kibbutz members work. He was an avid sports fan and participated in basketball competitions held in his neighborhood, as a regular member of the neighborhood basketball team. On Saturdays he would go with his friends to watch soccer games. He liked to listen to music and especially loved Hebrew songs from the underground and the War of Independence. He also liked to listen to music and songs. Yaakov was drafted into the IDF at the end of October 1972 and volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade, and after completing basic training he successfully completed a paratroopers’ course and was proud to be part of the elite paratroopers unit. In the harsh battle Yaakov was killed and killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents and two sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal. His comrades in the paratroopers ‘brigade wrote about his character, which was published in the pamphlet of the Paratroopers’ Brigade Commanders Course; His classmates at Ironi V High School published a leaflet containing the words of teachers and friends about his character, along with remarks about teachers in the school and his graduates who fell in battle.
