Ya’ari (Mishleworski), Meir


Meir, son of Zvia and Pinchas, was born on October 7, 1954 in Poland and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1957. Meir was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of November 1972 and was assigned to the Armored Corps, where he completed his course in the Tankurion Tank and completed his course in the tank of the Centurion tank. And was appointed commander of the Santorion tank. He began his studies in an officers’ course when the Yom Kippur War broke out. He was sent to the Golan Heights and participated in the difficult battles against the Syrians. On the 9th of Tishrei 5734 (October 9, 1973), Meir was injured during an encounter at an ambush at the Bukata intersection and was killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He was survived by a father, a mother, two brothers and a twin sister. After his fall, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel
