Yaakov (Yankele) Kafri
Yaakov, the only son of Samuel and Rebecca Kafri, was born on July 18, 1927 in Poland. When Yaakov reached the age of six, the family immigrated to Israel. On the eve of the Six-Day War, he spoke with his wife and said, “Look, everything will be all right.” On the second day of the battles, on the 27th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), he fell from a direct hit by a Jordanian shell on the kibbutz and was buried in the Kiryat Shaul Military Cemetery.
