Woodbus, Aryeh
Son of Rivka and Shlomo, was born on 21.7.1928 in Petach Tikvah, attended the “Netzach Israel” school and later in the “Ahad Ha’am” Gymnasium, And at the age of 16 began working as a metalworker in his father’s workshop, together with his two brothers, who joined the Gadna, was trained and was a member of the volunteer fire brigade. In all his activities in these organizations he excelled in dedication and perseverance and was acceptable to his friends. During the Mandate period, during the days of arms searches in Shfayim and Givat Hashlosha, Aryeh was among those who rushed to the aid of the farms. Upon the outbreak of the War of Independence he volunteered for the ranks of the defenders in the Sharon, served in the Alexandroni Brigade, moved to the Kfar Yona camp and participated in the defense of Kfar Yavetz. Aryeh fell on the 27th of Tevet 5708 (27.12.1947), during the first attack on the village. His body remained in the hands of the Arabs and was buried by them, and only a day later it was returned. Aryeh was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Petah Tikva.
