Wonsover, David-Arieh (“Tolk”)


Son of Yitzhak and Feiga. He was born in the city of Pilatusk in Poland on May 24, 1988. He completed his studies in an elementary school, and during the Second World War he took his life to the front in order to take revenge on the Germans, When he was 15 years old, he was about to be sent to the first Polish brigade to fight the Germans, but the enlistment authorities, who discovered he was only 15 years old, refused to fulfill his request. From 1946 he was a member of the kibbutz of Hashomer Hatzair in Lodz and traveled with his kibbutz to Italy where he left his friends. He served in the Haganah as a guide and because of his military orientation and discipline, he was very pleased to be included among those who were sent to a training course in Italy.David Arie participated in the battles for Kola, fought in Falluja and in Iraq – Manshiyya. He passed several additional courses (demons, combat symbols) and continued as a platoon commander. After completing his regular service, he enrolled in the permanent army and served as a guide in a school for squad commanders. He was very disciplined,He was about to leave for an officer’s course, but did not make it, because on the 24th of Elul 5710 (August 27, 1950) he fell while carrying out his duties. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
