Wolobalsky, Binyamin (Benny)


Binyamin, son of Issar and Shoshana Wolobalsky, was born in Tel Aviv on 21.12.1939. In February 1958. After his regular service, he was called up for reserve duty from time to time and was called during the days of alert for the Six-Day War. His father died the day after he was called up and he was brought home to attend his funeral. At the end of the seven days of mourning he stood up and said he could not stay home while his friends were at the front. On the third day of the war, on the 28th of Iyar 5727 (7.6.1967), Binjyamin fell in a battle that took place in El Arish. He left a wife and a child. He was buried in the military cemetery in Bari and was later transferred to eternal rest in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery. His memory was included in the booklet “Brigade in the Six Day War.”
