Wolk, Aryeh


Aryeh, son of Sonia and Lippa, was born on 28.3.1949 in Kovel in the Soviet Union, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1957. During the Yom Kippur War, Aryeh participated in the battles of containment and break-ins against the Egyptians in the Sinai. In the battle that took place on October 16, 1973, on the “Ofra-Sentiment” axis near the Gidi crossing, while his tank was in a position of fire and fired at the enemy, a shell hit the tank turret and Aryeh was hit and killed. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Holon and eft behind a father, a mother, and a brother. After he fell he was promoted to the rank of sergeant.
