Wolinski, Nachum

He was born in 1919 in Grodno, Poland, and immigrated to Palestine with his family in 1924. Nachum was educated in the “Tachkemoni” school, and after graduating began working in carpentry to help support the family. As a guard in the Shapira neighborhood of Tel Aviv, he spent days and nights on guard duty in a Tel Aviv neighborhool. On 24 Tevet January 15, 1939, one of the girls who used to come to the hut played with his rifle and a bullet hit Nachum. He was brought to the hospital and died that day, and was laid to rest in the Nahalat Yitzhak cemetery. He left his parents, three brothers and a sister.
