Wolf, Zvi

Zvi, son of Matilde and Paul (Raphael), was born on 21.3.1922 in Germany, in the port city of Hamburg. At the beginning of the war, Zvi worked in various jobs – among peasants, in restaurants, and in coal mines. Later on he joined the partisans, active in the underground resistance to the Nazis. He arrived in Israel in 1946. In July 1948, Zvi was sent to the defense of Sejera. The Golani force attacked the area of the junction and conquered an outpost in the area, but the following day the Arabs responded with an attack. Zvi stood in the front position of the western outpost (west of the Arab Sejera, at a spot overlooking the enemy concentrations in the Golan Heights), stubbornly fought and knocked down many of the enemy’s personnel with his precision. On November 11, 1948, he fell and was buried in cemetery in Beit Keshet.
