Wolf, Michael (Micha)


Son of Martha and Max was born on 19.11.1928 in Berlin, the capital of Germany, and immigrated to Israel in 1933. He studied at the Riali High School in Haifa and completed the elementary school in Ahuza.Michael learned to be an optometrist, Worked and specialized in it for five years, was particularly interested in art (also studied in a painting studio), in psychology and politics, and joined the Haganah in 1942. He completed an officer’s course with honors, served as lieutenant colonel and served as a course instructor until August 1947 He served as an announcer in English at the underground Hagana radio station. He was the commander of a company of scouts in the Carmel region. In November 1947 he commanded a position in the old commercial center in Haifa. He then moved to Biriya where he dealt with matters of security and the safety of the area. When the attack took place on 15 January 1948 near Biriya and he was wounded, he ordered his deputy to take care first of the class and then of him. Three days later, on the 18th of Shevat 5708 (18.1.1948), he died of his wounds at the hospital in Tiberias and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
