Windinder, Alexandra (Sandra)


Daughter of Shulamis and Boris. She was born on August 17, 1977 in Kazan, Russia, a sister to Anatoly. Alexandra immigrated to Israel with her family in 1991, studied Hebrew at an ulpan in Safed, where the family lived, and later studied at the Ramot Hefer High School in Kibbutz Ma’abarot. She was well absorbed, was a good and diligent student, loved to read books, to acquire knowledge and education from every possible source. At the same time, she invested a great deal of her time in social activities and was popular with her friends and friends. Alexandra enlisted in January 1996, and after basic training was sent to a course for dental assistants. In this course she also stood out, both in her achievements in studies and in her social integration, curiosity and interest, her great vitality and her occupying laugh. After the course she was sent to serve as a dental assistant at the Ramat David Air Force base. She fulfilled her role in the best possible way, was proud and satisfied with her service in the IDF, and worked out plans for the future, while Alexandra fell during her service on February 20, 1996. She was eighteen years old. Left parent and brother. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Safed. After her death, her friends wrote: “Sandra, your red hair, your smile, your inner and outer beauty, will always remain in my memory.I will never forget your endless power to learn.” “Sandra, you were like our mother, you were always worried about us on every trip, you were honest and kind, I was always amazed and jealous of your willpower”
