Ben Rachel and Eliahu, was born on the 24th of Adar 5714 (24.3.1954) in Haifa. Danny was drafted into the IDF in early August 1972 and volunteered for the navy, but after nine months of exhausting training he reached the conclusion that this was not his mission and went on to serve in the Armored Corps. Yom Kippur War During the battle that took place on the 6th of Tishrei 5734 (October 6, 1973), Danny’s tank was attacked and a force of Egyptians surrounded the area. That he was missing, and only after nine months of fears and hopes, fears and searches, was Danny’s body found and brought to the deceased. Danny was buried in the military cemetery in Haifa, leaving behind his parents, brother, and sister, and was promoted to the rank of corporal.
