Wiesel, Moshe (“Moishele”)


Moshe, son of Isaac and Pnina Wiesel, was born on February 5, 1939 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He immigrated to Israel as part of Youth Aliya in 1948 and Moshe entered the Hadasim Institute and studied there for one year. He was drafted into the IDF and served in the paratroopers. He would go on reserve duty from time to time, and during the Six-Day War he participated in the battles for the liberation of Jerusalem during the war. On the sixth day of the battles, on the 6th of Sivan 5767 (June 10, 1967), he fell in a battle in the Golan Heights. He was buried on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
