Wickman, Robert-Lester (Bob)

Son of Alessi and Mordechai. Born on 21/11/1921 in Los Angeles, California, United States. In April 1948 he volunteered for service in the Haganah. On 2 Tamuz (07/09/1948) he was sent on a flight to the Negev and did not return. It was reported that he had fallen near Gaza. His body was not found. After his fall, he was promoted to the rank of superintendent (lieutenant). A monument in his memory was erected in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
