West, Eliyahu


Son of Haim and Yaffa. He was born in Damascus, Syria, on 13.5.1937, where he studied at the Alliance School, where he immigrated to Israel together with other youth and his friends. He studied at a vocational school in Haifa until he reached the mitzva, and at the age of fourteen he left the school and studied carpentry, and since then he worked in the Police Department in Haifa, where he returned to the kibbutz. For about a year he decided to join the army. He participated in the Sinai Campaign and was an example to all his friends with his courage and courage, and in the battle of Rafah, on the 27th of March 1957, he fell. He was buried in the Military Emergency Cemetery in Bari and on Thursday, March 10, 1957, was transferred to the eternal military cemetery in Haifa
