Wendel, Menachem (Freddy)

Son of Gusta and Eliezer, was born on 19.6.1929 in Berlin, the capital of Germany. Menachem immigrated to Israel in 1947. He continued to study in Israel and after learning Hebrew he knew seven languages. Menachem immediately accepted the draft order and took a wireless course. In his free time he loved painting and was loved by his friends and commanders. On the 12th of Tishrei, 5709 (15.10.1948) he fell and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in the village of Warburg.
