Weizmann, Yosef (“Yossi”)


Son of Shlomo and Luna. Born in Rabat, Morocco, on July 24, 1950. The family immigrated to Israel in 1952. At first the family lived in the Shefa Amr transit camp and from there moved to Haifa after seven months, where he began to study at the Beit Yitzhak elementary school and in 1960, When the family moved to Kiryat Haim, he continued to study at the “HaRo’e” school in Kiryat Shmuel, where he was a member of Hanoar Haoved and active in it. Worked in carpentry and assembling shutters, was a diligent worker and devoted son to his parents and family, and was drafted into the IDF in February 1968 and wanted to join the Border Police. But before completing his mandatory service he was found in the course of his service, fell during his duty on 25 July 1968. He was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa, in the book “The Trees Shocked Up” In memory of the fallen soldiers in Israel’s wars, a page was dedicated to his memory, including his history and his picture.
