Weizmann, Chai-Yaish
Chai-Yaish, son of Batya and Pinchas Weizmann, was born in Ramle on 28.1.1987. Chai’s abilities were evident from an early age. “I remember him as a little boy in the synagogue,” said a member of the family. “While his peers played outside the synagogue, Chai sat and held the siddur and read word for word. It was an amazing sight. On October 16, 2005, Chai was drafted into the IDF. He served in the General Staff of the Weapons Development Administration. During his service he lived with a serious illness, but he confronted it with courage and optimism. Captain Chai fell in the line of duty on 18 Shvat, February 7, 2015. He was twenty-eight years old. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, Jerusalem. Survived by a wife, parents, two sisters and two brothers.On the 19th of Av, 5766 (19.8.2016), the Chai Ha-Olamim synagogue, named after him, was inaugurated in Moshav Yad Rambam.
